GREG NORMAN CHAMPIONS GOLF ACADEMY

Leisure Time at GNCGA

The students at GNCGA are very busy with schoolwork and focusing on golf which leaves them a little bit of free time. Since the students play golf 6 out of 7 days a week, we encourage them to rest on Sunday’s. In their downtime, they get the chance to relax at the houses and they enjoy doing many fun activities that Myrtle Beach has to offer. Our student’s favorite places to go are: Broadway at the Beach, Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball games, NASCAR Speed Park, and WonderWorks. One day a week the house parents will take them out to a restaurant; one of their favorites is Benjamin’s, pictured above.

GNCGA is a boarding and non-boarding school. We have a lot of international students that love to come here for golf, but also to experience life in the United States. The students attend school from 7AM-10AM, then hit the gym for an hour before they head to lunch with GNCGA’s certified coaches. After lunch, the students practice golf drills, and play 9 or 18 holes. The students leave the academy around 5PM and head to the houses to finish any homework they may have, eat a nutritious meal prepared by our house parents, watch Netflix, play video games and of course get a great night’s rest.

Having the students live in houses together gives them time to bond with each other and even learn about all of their different cultures. At GNCGA, the students become one big family. They help each other achieve their goals, motivate each other and have fun!
