GREG NORMAN CHAMPIONS GOLF ACADEMY

Hector and Cristina Gutierrez

Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy had the pleasure of attending the Carolina Spring Challenge, which took place at the Woodside Plantation Country Club on March 14-15, 2015 in Aiken, South Carolina.

GNCGA took nine of their full time students to this tournament. GNCGA would like to say good job to all of their students who played hard and gave it their best and congratulations to Hector and Cristina Gutierrez for win- ning first place in the boys and girls 15-18 year old division. GNCGA asked Hector if there is any competition between him and his sister. Hector responded, “Since we started playing golf we have always competed. It’s a very healthy competition because we motivate and push each other to be better. We are very competitive and want to beat each other, but at the end of the day we are also each others biggest supporters.” Hector and Cristina both shot six over for the tournament. Hector won by three and Cristina won by eight. Hector and Cristina each shot 75 for both days of the tournament. We asked Cristina in what way has your brother been by your side throughout this tournament. Cristina said, “He is a great brother in every tournament. We support each other and watch each other on the first tee and when one of us finishes before the other, we always go cheer and support the other.”

GNCGA looks forward to all the other tournaments they are apart of in 2015!

Greg Norman: Stories of interest you might have missed

They enjoy grazing the field and getting fat and sassy,’ he said.” Normal assesses today’s players in this story by John Paul Newport of the Wall Street Journal.

Ben Crenshaw, twice a winner, will make his final appearance in the Masters next month. “It’s a little bittersweet, but good Lord I’m just thankful for all the time I’ve had there,” he said in this story...

GNCGA

Our family of young athletes are looking and feeling good as the 2014-2015 full time program at GNCGA enters its final few weeks . After their round Saturday the students enjoyed a warm and sunny weekend of rest and indulging in fun activities available to them here in beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC. On the list of fun included evening sightseeing of the glamorous Broadway at the Beach, recreation at the basketball court and swimming pool in their home community of The Farm, a movie at Coastal Grand Mall, watching the WGC-Cadillac Match Play on the golf channel and a savory dining experience at Hard Rock Café!

Students have an exciting week ahead, too! They are participating in the first annual Risen Christ Taste of the Coast Charity Golf Tournament at The Grande Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach on Monday and will be traveling to Augusta on Thursday for the Augusta Junior Shootout at Bartram Trail Golf Club. It is an energetic and eventful time of year here at Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy!
