Summer camp is something that everyone should experience at least once in their life.

It’s a time to make lifelong friendships and memories with people around the world that will last a lifetime. Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy provides many summer camp options to fit your needs. To make the best of your summer camp at GNCGA, here are a couple of things you should know:

We Love Golf

Our summer camp may not be filled with arts and crafts, but we still have a lot of fun. Improving your golf game is our top priority no matter what level you are at. You will be practicing and playing golf five days out of the week, consisting of 31+ hours. Who doesn’t have a passion for playing golf!

What to Pack

GNCGA is located in North Myrtle Beach, SC., so it can get hot! When you pack, you want to include golf shorts and light-weight golf shirts. To avoid the sun on your face, neck and head, hats and sun screen are a tremendous help! Golf shoes, a regular pair of sneakers and flip-flops (if you want to show off your golfer’s tan!) are needed. Don’t forget to bring your golf clubs; you will need them! Make sure to pack an extra bag or leave space in your luggage to bring home some awesome GNCGA souvenirs and freebees.

Your Day

You will be waking up around 7:00 am Monday through Friday. This gives you time to eat a wholesome breakfast and prepare for your day. The bus leaves at 8:30 am promptly to head to the academy just a short distance away from our dormitories. After arriving at the academy and settling in for the morning, training with our Fitness and Nutrition Instructor, Kelly Shobe, begins at 9:00 am.  She helps warm up your muscles to allow you to help with your swing and tone up your abdominal muscles! Fitness is a key factor when it comes to playing golf. Then from 10:30 am-12:00 pm you will have practice and one-on-one time with our certified coaches who use the V-1 equipment! Of course, you will get an excellent array of places to eat for lunch all within a minute’s drive from the academy.

Once your belly is filled with a delicious lunch, you will arrive back at the academy for some more golf! After playing nine holes on one of the four signature golf courses (Love, Fazio, Dye and Norman) at Barefoot Resort and Golf, the day has flown by and it’s now 5:00 pm- which means it is time to relax! Finally, After dinner with your houseparent, you will get to enjoy all that Myrtle Beach has to offer or relax and take a nice nap to prepare for the next day of training!
